Reflective Journal Week 9

 

Week 9 (30/01/2023- 3/02/2023)

Successfully completed ninth week of my teaching practice. A lot of things happened this week.

 The first day, that is 30/01/2023, started with morning assembly conducted by 9A students. The assembly observed honoring of Martyr's our Nation. The pre- model exam was started from today and therefore we the B. Ed trainees also assigned with the exam duty in shift wise. Examination all gave me a different experience. I never felt it boring to spend my most time watching the writing the question and trying to discuss with others. From being a student to someone who invigilate the students are new to me and I enjoyed it. First day I got three periods in 8A. I taught the topic area of quadrilateral balance exercise problems. And in the other two periods doubts were cleared as I was going to conduct the achievement and diagnostic test this week.

In the second day, that is 31/01/2023, we were informed that our physical education teacher will be there for our observation. So, we arranged 9B class for our observation. Same as the other day we were assigned with exam duty. In between this, our leader informed us we should take the PT class in the second period. So, we requested other teachers to fill our position in the exam hall until we came back. During the PT observation I given commands to the students and also worked out some war up exercises. Later played them different games by us in loop format. Starting by me, I have played them 1,2 pause game. After that Ms. Praseetha given the instruction for another game and the baton moved to Ms. Pooja later to Ms. Amina and finally ended with me. After the games we asked the students whether they liked the session. All were so happy, and everyone liked it. This day I got only 1 period in 8A. Since, they asked me they are facing difficulty in solving the homework question. I taught them that portion. In the sixth period, we had taken 6A to the ground for PT period.

In the third day, that is 01/02/2023, the day started with morning assembly conducted by 9B students. The day was very hectic for me. Since the class teacher of 8A is on leave, I had to handle the duty of it. I went to 8A in the first period. Taken the attendance and noon feeding attendance. They distributed question paper for the achievement test. I had given them enough time to answer as well. After this, I went for exam duty also. Remaining free periods for 8A was also handled by me.

In the fourth day, that is 02/02/2023, started with distributing the mark sheets and discussed briefly the question paper. Asked them to ask me doubts regarding the answers if any. In the afternoon, our optional teacher came to sign our record and journals. Lter our general teacher also arrived surprisingly to observe Amina's class which she missed it in the first spell.

In the fifth day, that is 03/02/2023, there were no period for me in 8A as per the regular timetable. But I got 1 free period there. So, I conducted the diagnostic test and provided required instructions also. Also went for exam duty in the first 3 period. In the afternoon we conducted quiz competition on the topic wetland. The questions were prepared by Social Science teachers. We just helped them in conducting the quiz. Also, this will be our last Friday that we spend in school. Next Friday, we will be in college. Thinking about that was little disappointing. But still, we are going back with a lot of memories.
