Reflective Journal Week 8: P2

 

Week 8 (31/07/2023- 04/08/2023)

Successfully completed last week of my teaching practice. These 33 days are filled with new experiences and lessons in life. These days have taught me to learn from mistakes and improve myself with hard work enthusiasm. As a teacher trainee, these days helped me to understand my limitations in the process of teaching. Each and every experience I faced during my school internship helped in developing my personality and in increasing my confidence level.

 The first day, that is 31/07/2023, I reached school little late because of PSC exam. The day our Principal Dr. Sheeba P miss, who is also our class teacher came for the last observation. In my absence my friends arranged class for me. In the second period I went to 8H for the class. Miss also joined 5 min later the class. I taught the calendar problem in the section "algebraic method". Taught the portion with the help of calendar and ppt. Through simple questioning I made the students to answer the problem. Third period also I went to 8H and taught the next section. And then conducted diagnostic test. It has been found that most of the students had difficulty in the areas such as equal triangles and properties of triangles.

In the second day, that is 01/08/2023, started with morning prayer. Since we are planned on conducting a morning assembly on Thursday, we started practicing for it. In the first period itself I went to 8D as a free period. They are engaged in completing some works. This day I got 2 periods in 8H. In the first class I taught the balance portion of last section and the chapter completed. The had some talks with students. Gave some tips while writing exams. The went to 8B in the fourth period. And worked out some problems in the last section of the chapter equations. 

In the third day, that is 02/08/2023, the day started with special morning assembly conducted by Hindi club. I t observed the remembrance of Premchand. Later, on the occasion of SPC day, there were some special programmes conducted after the assemble. e and Neha teacher joined on it. Flag hoisted by the MVD inspector and then in the seminar hall inauguration of "Karuthal" were happened. In the lunch break and 5th period, I went to 8H and presented my innovative work. My work was an online Hidden object game named as "Mystery in Math". As I expected, students liked it very much and throughout the class all are very active and immersed into the game. In the last 2 periods went to 8B and completed the chapter and started the 3rd chapter polygons also.

In the fourth day, that is 03/08/2023, the day started with the morning prayer which was sung by us. In the first period itself I went to 5C as a free period. In the second period also, I stayed there. We talked then asked students to read text. In the third period went to 8H as I got a free period. Worked out the problems given by Shihayez sir. Since we are leaving the school tomorrow, they keep asking about it and telling me to "don't go". Then in the afternoon gave remedial classes to students separately after preparing the diagnostic chart. I think the class was effective because I was able to focus more on the difficulty of students in understanding the concept as there were minimal students compared to the regular class. Also, in the questioning session they answered correctly. Later, we discussed about tomorrow's programmes. The day ended with our National Anthem.

Today, that is 04/08/2023, was the last day of our school internship. The day started with morning assembly. The day was very hectic. We never rest a bit.  From the morning itself, the rush to our staffroom never ended. The students are all sad that we are leaving.  We distributed sweets to students. Clicked photos with students. They gave feedback to me. Gave many gifts. Raji cried a lot because I'm going. In the afternoon, Hm and other teachers gave us a small farewell party. HM and other teachers gave farewell speech to us and wished us all the best for our future. After that we distributed sweets to all classes and teachers as a token of love. Took photos with students, teachers and HM to keep all these memories. In the last period, I went to 8B, had some beautiful talk with students. Then I thanked them for the love they showered on us in these 33 days. Lastly, we met HM Ms. Suja M and thanked her for the love, care and cooperation that she offered to us in the days of school internship. HM wished us a good teaching profession and advised us to uphold good values in life. For the last time when we are leaving the college, students all waved us and said bye....
