Reflective Journal Week 1: P2

Week 1 (14/06/2023- 16/06/2023)

Successfully completed first week of my teaching practice. There were total of 15 students assigned to GHSS, Palayamkunnu.
14/06/2023, our first day in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Palayamkunnu for the second phase of teaching practice. So, we reached there at 9.15 am. Then we met the Headmistress and our concerned Mathematics teacher, and they allotted the class sections and timetable for us. I got 8B, 8H classes and a timetable of 11 classes /week. Also, we got separate room to place our things. The school started with a special assembly in the morning. An anti-drug pledge taking was the main attraction of the assembly. From the first day itself we engaged in different activities like uniform cutting and arranging them. Later I went to 8B class. The students are very well behaved and super obedient. So, it was easy for me to handle the class. I checked their previous knowledge then worked out a problem. In the afternoon we went to distribute noon meal. At 3.30 pm the school time ended.
In the second day, that is 15/06/2023, started with morning prayer. This day I got one period each in 8B and 8H. Today was the first time I went to 8H to take class. There I started the new chapter, which is "Equal Triangles". There also I didn't find much difficulty in handling the class. 8H is a new batch to the school. So, they are also like me, new to the environment. I tried to learn each one's names. Hope that soon I'll learn everyone's names. I checked the classroom for ICT. All facilities are there. Also, today in the first period we get free hour timetable. I went to 6B in the fifth period.
In the third day, that is 16/06/2023, the day started with morning prayer. I had a total of 3 periods today. I had spent a quality time with my 2 classes. 8H is lagging behind the portion compared to 8B because the portion was already started in 8B. With the help of various aids, I taught them the class. Also, as a free period Me and Pooja went to 9C class. Today the school ended at 3.45 pm.
Each moment that I spend there, was a new experience to me. As a whole I loved this school and the students even though the whole process of teaching practice is little hectic. Hope for the best experiences in the coming days.

  Week 8 (31/07/2023- 04/08/2023) Successfully completed last week of my teaching practice. These 33 days are filled with new experiences and lessons in life. These days have taught me to learn from mistakes and improve myself with hard work enthusiasm. As a teacher trainee, these days helped me to understand my limitations in the process of teaching. Each and every experience I faced during my school internship helped in developing my personality and in increasing my confidence level.  The first day, that is 31/07/2023, I reached school little late because of PSC exam. The day our Principal Dr. Sheeba P miss, who is also our class teacher came for the last observation. In my absence my friends arranged class for me. In the second period I went to 8H for the class. Reflective Journal Week 7

  Week 7 (16/01/2023- 20/01/2023) Successfully completed seventh week of my teaching practice. A lot of things happened this week. Also, I am very happy with my students because they are very obedient now.  The first day, that is 16/01/2023, started with morning assembly conducted 8A students and in the assembly, HM announced that they will join the sub-Jilla based campaign of vegetable farming in schools.  First day I got three periods in 8A. I taught them on the topic construction of squares and rhombus and made workout them some problems based on it. Also, from this week onwards we were in charge of PT periods of all classes in the school. So, we will get a separate timetable for that in the morning itself from HM and we adjust our duties accordingly. We teach them many games and warm- up exercises.
