Reflective Journal Week 8

 

Week 8 (23/01/2023- 27/01/2023)

Successfully completed eighth week of my teaching practice. A lot of things happened this week.

 The first day, that is 23/01/2023, started with morning assembly conducted 6A students and they coordinated the assembly superbly. First day I got three periods in 8A. I taught them on the topic area of trapezium and workout some problems based on it in two periods and in the third period Neha teacher also accompanied me to the class. We had a great time there. It was wonderful to spend some time with my students. They are very curious about many things, and we were happy to listen to them and answer. Also, got many free periods to handle both the high school and upper classes. After spending the most of my times in other classes including mine, the comment which I got more frequently is " Teacher, you are the only one among other teachers who listens to us and chat with us". But when the 7A children said this, I didn't take it seriously, later students from 7B and 8A also said the same. Then I started think on this and I feel very happy. I don't know why, but those little comments made my day even on those hectic days.

In the second day, that is 24/01/2023, we were informed in the morning that our optional teacher will be there for our third observation. It was surprising that this time she informed about her arrival beforehand. This day also I got 2 periods in 8A. First was in the fourth period. I taught them problems based on trapezium. Today's meal was special as one of the teachers in the school distributed special meal. So, students were very happy, and we also get its share. In the afternoon, optional teacher came and observed my class. I've improved a lot and she didn't write many mistakes this time. After, we were again busy with our schedules of handling the PT periods and free periods as usual.

In the third day, that is 25/01/2023, the day started with morning assembly conducted by 6B students. The assembly observed congratulating the student who won the NuMATS scholarship exam. In the assembly, HM warned the students for their irresponsible behavior towards school in destroying the school infrastructure. As a result, she announced an urgent meeting including school and class leader to discuss on the same. I got 2 periods in 8A. But 1 took the class only in one period as the other was their PT period.

In the fourth day, that is 26/01/2023, observed as Republic Day, so no regular classes held. We reached the school early and HM celebrated the day by flag hoisting. She also made a short speech on the importance of the day. Later distributed sweets to the students who assembled there to celebrate the day.

In the fifth day, that is 27/01/2023, there were no period for me in 8A as per the regular timetable. But I got 2 free periods there. So, I taught them the topic based on quadrilaterals and worked out some problems related to it. I informed them that there will be test in the coming week of this chapter and announced the date also. Told them to be prepare for the exam. Other than my periods in 8A, I got many free periods to other classes also. While handling the 7B class, the students sing a song and danced. It was very wonderful to watch them enjoying those moments. They are very happy when they are doing those things. I tried to record some part of those memorable moments. After showing it to the students also, they are very happy.
